This clinical trial investigated the use of individualized homeopathy with post-acute COVID-19 Syndrome, or Long COVID, which is a serious public health concern. Previous clinical studies have shown classical homeopathy to be superior to placebo, including for chronic diseases with symptoms similar to Long COVID, such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study. Seventy-seven participants were randomized to receive an individually prescribed homeopathic verum medication or a placebo. Patients were treated via telemedicine by licensed homeopathic providers for 12 weeks. Results are pending as the manuscript is awaiting publication.
This clinical trial was an enormous collaborative effort from the homeopathic community in the United States. All 23 homeopathic providers and the study team volunteered their time and effort to accomplish this study. Even the homeopathic medicines were provided free of charge to patients by Hahnemann Labs.
